O&H are pleased to announce the recent graduation of Gordon Murphy, Senior Electrical Design Engineer.
Gordon has been with O&H for ten years, having joined the company in 2008 as an Apprentice. He spent his first few years within the electrical department in the factory whilst completing NVQ Levels 2 & 3 in Automotive Maintenance & Repair.
In 2016, Gordon decided to continue his studies and top-up his HND to a degree. During this time, Gordon moved up again into the role of Senior Electrical Design Engineer before graduating Sheffield Hallam University with a BEng Electrical Engineering.
Wes Linton, Technical Director at O&H, said: ‘Gordon has worked extremely hard since joining O&H and has shown a great deal of dedication to his career therefore we were pleased to offer our support by sponsoring his studies.’
Gordon’s key role within the company is the design of all the wiring harnesses and power management systems across OHVC’s range of vehicles. He is also responsible for investigating and developing the latest cutting-edge technologies.
He has proved a vital member of the team on front-line A&E Ambulances, Fire & Rescue vehicles, Welfare units, and most recently OHVC’s first Box Body Ambulance which showcased the PCB Power management system that he created and developed as part of the dissertation for his degree.
Gordon commented: ‘I am honored to work for such a supportive company and blessed that my potential can be reached with the continued support and sponsorship from O&H over the past 10 years and hopefully on into the future.’
He continued: ‘I am hoping to further my education with a Master’s degree next year and perhaps even a Doctorate after that. All of my success comes with thanks to the company.’
